Another group of finds from the Urartian mining arts is the helmets made of bronze. there are ornaments extending to the front of the helmet and ending with an animal head in the form of relief strips on conical shaped helmet. Again in some examples, repetitive figures such as chariot and cavalry figures, tree of life grafting scenes were handled in relief strips along the edge of the helmet. Some examples also have a stylized lightning motif in the front. Descriptions of soldiers and gods wearing such helmets are frequently found on Urartu bronze artifact. Again, these conical shaped helmets were also found in the Anzaf, Çavuştepe, Karmir-Blur and Ayanis excavations. The mythological and religious descriptions on conical shaped helmets and some cuneiform expressions show that these are used more for ceremonial purposes.
